Physical Video' features examples of performance and theatricality in video art from the 1970s to the present. Thematically diverse, each work engages the human body as its core subject, focusing on how physical gestures and actions can illustrate social, political and aesthetic concerns. Acts of play and endurance are complemented by tactile explorations of materials and objects, in particular explorations of air, water and fire, as well as items encountered in the everyday.
