'Portraits are People Pictures' is the first of the Gallery's exhibitions designed specifically for children. The exhibition, displayed at children's eye level, features diverse works exploring the history, styles and techniques of portrait painting. With easy-to-read labels, children delight in examining paintings, sculpture, photography, ceramics, prints, carvings, collages and cut-outs.

A special interactive display, incorporating sound, encourages children to explore the techniques of portrait painting. Portrait-making workshops and performances are also presented.
