'Pleasure of Place' considers the significant body of work created by renowned photographer and teacher, Richard Stringer over his 40 year career. It explores the varied subjects that have inspired Stringer throughout his photographic practice, including industrial archaeology, the urban environment and landscapes. It examines Stringer's connection with architecture — he came to photography through his training and practice as an architect — and his lifelong work documenting Queensland's built environment, both modern and historic, in Brisbane and throughout the state.
