A Day at the Beach' presents art on the well-loved Australian theme of seaside recreation. Children are invited to relive the tradition of a day at the beach through artworks, interactive displays and art-making activities.
Some of the artworks featured a shark mask, images of sunbathers, surfers and colourful beach umbrellas, as well as a life-size manta ray made from car tyres. 'A Day at the Beach' is the first of the Gallery's touring exhibitions for children and it will complete an 11-venue tour of regional Queensland in April 2002.
