In this vibrant artwork, Dellina Inkamala highlights the problem faced by many homeless or transient Aboriginal peoples unable to afford accommodation in Alice Springs. Unlike the ‘town camps’, there is no housing or structures along the Todd River, and campers sleep rough under the stars. Camping here is illegal and people are frequently moved on by rangers or have their bedding removed to deter them from returning. The Todd River is prone to flooding, compounding the risks faced by those forced to reside on its banks.
