Information Transfer #3 is a durational artwork that demands patience in a world of instant gratification.

Like the surface of the chalk and ochre coated panels, there are many layers of meaning embedded within the work. An electro-mechanical device intermittently spurts water onto these panels with precision; the water loosens the pristine white pigmented crust to expose a concealed, raw, burnt-red ochre rudimentary layer. Over the period of the exhibition, the Yawuru word ‘buru’ will slowly appear. It roughly translates to ‘Country, land, ground, soil, time and space’. According to the artist:

Somewhat like in an archaeological dig, the desire to unearth, to reveal and to understand what 'lies beneath' is the impetus behind my art practice. The central theme and focus of 'digging up' and uncovering Australian, family and personal Indigenous histories through the scraping back of dominating histories reveals the denied, the forgotten and the hidden. This leads to me to being an observer and a participant in an evolving hybridity of Indigenous and non-Indigenous emotional and conceptual spaces and perspectives.
