Albert Namatjira Jr is one of Albert Namatjira’s grandsons. His father, Oscar Namatjira, is the second eldest of Albert’s five sons. Namatjira Jr learnt to paint from his father and uncles; he paints the same landscape but in his own style, using soft pinks and oranges — the colours of the desert landscape.
In this work, Namatjira Jr has depicted Tjuritja, or the West MacDonnell Ranges, the landscape made famous by his grandfather.
