Here Lindy Rontji depicts Mount Sonder, one of the most significant sites for Arrernte people. An Arrernte story tells of a woman who came over the mountains to lie in the valley and was subsequently transformed into Mount Sonder. While there does not appear to be a specific relationship to this story in the painting, Rontji is evidently paying tribute to her ancestral country in the Mount Sonder region.
