Artist Tom Moore is fascinated by hybridity and mutation. Working in blown glass, his whimsical universe prompts viewers to reconsider the nature of ornamental glass objects. In these works, Moore merges seemingly disparate objects — from automobiles to burgers — with plants and animals. Moore disarms viewers with the playful strangeness of these works, which also embody the artist’s ongoing concerns around climate change, industrialisation, food supply and ultimately survival.
