‘Lies, Magicians and Blind Faith’
Mar 2023 -
Jul 2023
‘Lies, Magicians and Blind Faith’ draws on the QAGOMA Collection to reflect the dynamic exchange between Australian and Filipino artists throughout the 1990s and 2000s. Featuring rich and vivid experiments in painting, installation, and works on paper that share a scepticism toward belief systems and power structures, it demonstrates the expansive possibilities of artist-to-artist dialogue within the Asia Pacific region. The exhibition includes individual and collaborative works by Santiago Bose, David Griggs, Pat Hoffie, Alwin Reamillo, and Nunelucio Alvarago and George Gittoes.
‘Lies, Magicians and Blind Faith’ was on display in QAG’s Gallery 14 from 4 March to 30 July 2023. This non-exhaustive resource below represents a sample of the works included in this exhibition.
