In Going O/S, Jan Senbergs reminds us of the near-omniscient vision that modern-day air travel provides travellers, picturing the experience as a great eye above looking down at the world. Yet the work is also an image of conformity: economy passengers are packed in like sardines, while first-class passengers float in extra oil. The restricted palette and dark sky suggest the dislocation, anxiety and alienation that sometimes accompany long-distance travel to unfamiliar places.
