Gole has created only one pot with a male face: a portrait of the current Oro Province Governor Gary Juffa, who lived with the Gole family in Port Moresby during his school years. The work has been fired in a kiln, rather than the low-temperature methods of the village, while the addition of sawdust and seaweed during firing has given the work a smoky grey-brown finish that has become Gole’s signature.
