FW Potts painted scenes of his farm at Flaxton on the Blackall Range, exhibiting more than 170 landscapes and still lifes (predominantly watercolours) at the Royal Queensland Art Society over a period of 40 years. Dr James Duhig, a noted Brisbane art patron, once remarked: ‘I believe that this is a particularly fine piece of work and I doubt whether a better watercolour painting of a landscape has even been done in Queensland’.
