Tom Rowney, born in Adelaide in 1971, is a foremost Australian glass blower and the current Technical Manager of Canberra Glassworks. His practice is driven by continuing to refine and adapt Venetian-style glass cane techniques. Rowney’s work is held in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra; QAGOMA, Brisbane; Tacoma Museum of Glass, Washington, USA; National Glass Collection, Wagga Wagga Art Gallery; and Powerhouse Museum, Sydney.
