Prudence Flint paints evocative portraits of women in interior settings, such as Good Bad Mirror 2023. She brings psychological intrigue into these everyday domestic scenes by placing suggestive items in her paintings, such as pieces of fruit or curious objects, whose meanings are left open to interpretation. To this, Flint adds a sense of mystery by manipulating the perspective; in Good Bad Mirror, the woman's shadow appears too small for her frame, and the bed behind her tilts at an impossible angle. 

Flint also reflects on the distance between how people perceive their bodies and reality by rendering the woman’s limbs in dramatically different proportions. Her paintings speak to the contemporary moment in this empathetic treatment of her subjects, while also falling within the broader history of the representation of women in art.
