‘Taralala’ refers to a form of dance in Fiji that is distinguished by its link to western forms of dancing. The movements of the Taralala are simple and can be performed to any beat or melody. Most social gatherings have moments for people to engage in this form of dance together as an important way of contributing to the spirit of joy and fellowship. In this work, three figures are closely linked as they move together alongside the rhythmic use of pattern.
