HAYSOM, Melville; The artist's wife
Melville Haysom met his wife, Yvonne, when they were art students in Melbourne: they married in 1925. This portrait of Yvonne was painted when the couple were living on Gregory Terrace, Brisbane - the details of the sky and land were based on sketches of Victoria Park, which was across the road.
