As part of her studies at the University of Queensland (UQ), Aoi Saito recently participated in a QAGOMA placement project, considering ways to deepen the Gallery's digital engagement with its younger audiences. Now graduated with a Master of Museum Studies, Aoi has shared the project's outcome with Collection Online: a video interview with Reuben Keehan (Curator, Asian and Pacific Art).
Filmed on site at QAGOMA, the video focuses on the behind-the-scenes story of the 2022 exhibition 'Chiharu Shiota: The Soul Trembles' and Shiota's major new installation, A question of perspective 2022.
Aoi Saito holds a Master's Degree in Museum Studies from the University of Queensland, along with a Bachelor of Arts (UQ) majoring in Film and TV Studies. With a background in filmmaking through programs in NYC, Tokyo and Brisbane, she contributed to a 2022 placement program at QAGOMA to produce a video interview with ‘Chiharu Shiota: A Soul Trembles’ curator Reuben Keehan.
