The ornamental paper (black flecked with white) is the ground for the floating form. This form is celestial-like and also has connotations of the Christian cross, a flag and a sail. It is related in technique to The William Gibson suite - 8 and The William Gibson suite - 6 (Gate) (Acc. nos 2000.089, 2000.090).
