In the series ‘Home Front’, painted metal cleavers feature idealised mountainous landscapes drawn from postcards, with views of the Himalayas at the border between Pakistan and India. Through these seemingly peaceful scenes, Suleman recognises the underlying reality of ongoing conflict in the region and the sites of border tension and trauma that pervade the landscape and its communities.
